Indulge your senses with ultimate Lake District luxury …
Setting: The main Gilpin Hotel is nestled in the heart of the Lakes just a stone’s throw from England’s largest natural lake, Windermere. Gilpin’s exquisite Lake House property is located close by, down a quiet country lane.
Style: This is an intimate and stylish family-run retreat, with some unique pampering experiences available for guests. The hotel’s 3AA rosette-rated restaurant ensures there are plenty of tantalising treats for foodies too.
Why go? Gilpin provides the perfect antidote to everyday stresses. Simply slow down and switch off.
This January, Gilpin Hotel & Lake House launched five luxurious detached Spa Lodges at Gilpin Hotel – the first of their kind in the country. Each lodge is cedar-clad with king size beds, gorgeous bathrooms and a fabulously private en-suite spa along with mood lighting, fires, electric blinds and a state-of-the-art music system – invigorating all of the senses.
The Spa Lodges each have a convertible treatment area, steam room, rain maker shower, free standing oval stone bath, outdoor sauna and hydrotherapy hot tub surrounded by a walled garden.
Offering the ultimate in pampering indulgence, guests can enjoy their Spa Experience in luxurious, romantic privacy, all the while enjoying delicious drinks and delectable food.
The lodges are pretty unbeatable for a touch of pampering with your other half or a good friend. It’s the perfect place to let your stresses wash away, finishing your Spa Experience with a glass of Champagne in the hot tub, and wonderful views over the gardens to the Lake District moors. Quite simply, this is the perfect chilled out spa hideaway.
Our favourite bits: You can tell this is a family run affair, from the moment you’re greeted at the door (or even at the railway station, if you prefer). That personal touch is evident in the fixtures and furnishings too. The hotel interiors strike a thoughtful balance of relaxed luxury, heavily influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement with modern flourishes.
Don’t forget: Distinctive delicacies are created by Gilpin’s Executive Chef Hrishikesh Desai, who won BBC 2’s ‘Alex Polizzi: Chefs on Trial’ in 2015.
