Hop-on, hop-off and enjoy the fresh air of the Lake District with Stagecoach’s brand new ‘Lakesider’ fleet.
Running on the established 599 routes between Grasmere and Bowness-on-Windermere, the new buses offer both visitors and locals a new travel experience including open top views, free Wi-Fi, USB charging points and spaces for bicycles and buggies.

Grasmere & Rydal:
Stop here to discover Wordsworth’s Country; visit his former homes Dove Cottage, Rydal Mount and learn more at The Wordsworth Museum. Take in the fresh air and walk to Rydal Caves to discover something magical or simply enjoy the traditional village of Grasmere.
The visitor hub at the head of England’s longest lake, Windermere, Ambleside is a treasure trove of independent shops, cafes, pubs and outdoor retailers. Home to the University of Cumbria, visitors can also discover the iconic Bridge House and board a steamer or boat with Windermere Lake Cruises.
Brockhole Visitor Centre:
The Lake District Visitor Centre, from toddlers to adventure-seekers to those looking to relax and experience the culture of the Lakes, Brockhole has it. Here you can swing through the trees with Tree Top Treks, sail across to Wray Castle on the west shore of Windermere, hire bikes and boats, walk through the gardens or fill up at the terrace café with views across the lake towards the Langdale Pikes.
The home of Windermere Lake Cruises, get your ticket to sail the Lake with different routes and tours to take you from different points on the lake or just to relax and enjoy the Lake District landscape. A short walk from the Pier the bustling town of Bowness provides numerous shops, pubs, bars and attractions including The World of Beatrix Potter and Blackwell, the Arts and Crafts House.
Windermere rail station:
The new buses also make for seamless connections between trains arriving into Windermere, connecting passengers with the Lakes line to Oxenholme and beyond.

The buses will run every 20 minutes, 7 days a week from now until Saturday 30th September 2017. A 30-minute service will then continue until Sunday 29th October 2017 and then hourly through the winter.
