    Voted Britain’s favourite view, the secluded Wasdale is home to the tallest peaks in the country, providing the most dramatic of back-drops for the special moment! After they have said yes, the nearby valley of Eskdale is home to many local pubs & ales for you to celebrate.

    Devils Bridge is steeped in history and is set in the gorgeous Lune Valley. Whether you ask them on the bridge itself or on the beaches of the River Lune, just a 5 minute walk from the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, this landmark would make an ideal spot to pop the question. Kirkby Lonsdale also has plenty of nice walks, restaurants and cafes to celebrate in!

     

  5. Hadrian’s Wall

    Continuing the theme of history, the ancient roman ruin of Hadrian’s Wall runs the breadth of the country from east to west. You could walk the entire wall over the course of a few days and get down on one knee as the sun sets over the west coast of Cumbria.

  10. Orrest Head Viewpoint

    Orrest Head, Windermere

    The popular summit of Orrest Head is a short 30 minute stroll to the top and gives you stunning views of Windermere and the Langdale & Fairfield mountain ranges, be aware though the walk is incredibly popular with tourists arriving at Windermere town, so if you’re keen to be alone with your special someone, avoid this one. Afterwards you can head into Bowness-on-Windermere where there are plenty of lakeside bars and restaurants for you to celebrate in.
