The Local Food Show – Thursday 23rd March 2017.

The event will be held at H & H Bordermart on Thursday 23rd March 2017, 12pm – 5pm and will be followed by a dinner at The Shepherd’s Inn which will be cooked and prepared by catering students from Carlisle College.

Carlisle Comic Con – Saturday 18th March 2017.

Carlisle Comic Con will be bringing some of the best loved (at hated) characters from comics, movie blockbusters and TV as well as amazing artists from the likes of DC, Marvel and Dark Horse comics for you to meet.

What to do…

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery

Set in beautiful gardens, Tullie House is a 17thC townhouse with a fine classical facade. Inside there are some original architectural features including a Jacobean staircase. The Panelled Room showcases key paintings from the Pre-Raphaelite period and there are regular exhibitions of local and national art and history.

Carlisle Castle

Just a short walk under the pass from Tullie House, standing proudly in the city it has dominated for nine centuries, Carlisle Castle remained a working fortress until well within living memory. It has withstood many sieges, contained a valuable royal prisoner, and been home to the King’s Own Royal Border Regiment. Explore medieval castle rooms as well as 19th century military buildings, and visit Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life.
