The cast

For many people Beatrix Potter and her famous creations including Peter Rabbit and friends were childhood heroes and icons. So what better way is there to rekindle your love for the cute little characters and introduce the latest generation to a world of magic and intrigue that is unique to Beatrix Potter’s writing, than to check out this fantastic musical adventure. Where is Peter Rabbit? The Beatrix Potter Musical Adventure is a musical performed down in Bowness-on-Windermere in the South Lakes. Here is what mum of two, Sam, had to say about the show:

I was lucky enough to get tickets to watch Where is Peter Rabbit? The Beatrix Potter Musical Adventure, at The World of Beatrix Potter on the opening day.  I took my children Barney (age 8) and Tilly (age 6) who were very excited as they love visiting the exhibition to see all the famous characters.  The show is in The Old Laundry theatre which is the perfect size for a children’s show as everyone can see the stage thanks to the tiered seating.  The show is narrated by a young Beatrix Potter with the story based around her trying to find Peter Rabbit with the help of Jemima Puddleduck.  Along the way they run into the old favourites including Mr Todd, Tommy Brock, Jeremy Fisher, the adorable Mrs Tiggy-Winkle and of course the slightly scary Mr McGregor.  It’s a great show that keeps the kids entertained with singing, dancing and storytelling.  My son Barney said afterwards that it was awesome and he really wanted to take the puppets home!  Tilly loved the singing and found herself singing Jemima’s song on the way home.  We will be telling our friends to make the most of this opportunity and to see the show while it’s right on our doorstep.

Mum of two Usha also had this to say about the show:

In the heart of the Lake District in an intimate theatre that is just the right size for the young audience, is the perfect setting for this uniquely Lake District production.  Where’s Peter Rabbit? is the first time a stage performance of Beatrix Potter’s stories has been produced. The high-quality show has live actors and puppeteers re-enacting some of Potter’s famous tales.  It is a real treat for young children and any adult Beatrix Potter fans as you see the very talented puppeteers bring the likes of Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck, Mr Todd and Jeremy Fisher to life; I went with my children aged 6 and 9 and we all thought Jeremy Fisher was the best! The production stays true to Beatrix Potter’s stories and includes many references to the Lake District landscape that inspired her to create these world-famous characters and tales.  This is great for families, but watch out for Mr McGregor as the show maintains the darker side of Beatrix Potter’s stories with a nice song to join in with about dead rabbits and pies!
